About this supplement
What Is Optimal Multi?
Optimal Multi is a broad multivitamin built on activated forms. Where many formulas use folic acid and pyridoxine, this one carries the versions the body would otherwise have to make itself. Its minerals are bound to glycine, and its vitamin C comes as mineral ascorbates.
How It Works in the Body
Vitamins mostly work as coenzymes: an enzyme cannot run without one clipped into place. Several of them need converting first. Folate as 5-MTHF, B12 as methylcobalamin, B6 as pyridoxal 5-phosphate and riboflavin as riboflavin 5-phosphate all arrive past that step. Those four run one-carbon metabolism, the chemistry that moves methyl groups between molecules.
The minerals take a different route. Zinc, copper, manganese, chromium and selenium are chelated to glycine, so they travel as amino acid complexes rather than as loose ions.
What It Supports
- Energy metabolism: The B vitamins are the coenzymes that release energy from food, so they play a role in normal energy metabolism.
- Antioxidant defense: Vitamin C, vitamin E, selenium and zinc all work in the body's antioxidant network.
- Immune function: Vitamins A, C and D and zinc support normal immune function.
- Methylation: Folate, B12, B6 and choline pass methyl groups along, the chemistry behind DNA synthesis and DNA repair.
- Glucose metabolism: Chromium supports glucose metabolism already within the normal range.
Who It May Suit
A foundation for people whose eating varies week to week, and for anyone who would rather cover the basics in one formula. It contains copper and no iron, which suits men and anyone past menopause. The capsule is plant-based.
Good To Know
PABA, inositol and vanadium round out the formula as traditional B-complex companions. Talk with your healthcare provider before use if you are pregnant, because this formula carries preformed vitamin A as retinyl palmitate, and intake adds up across everything you take.

FAQ
Common questions
What is Optimal Multi?
A daily multivitamin and mineral formula with twenty-four nutrients: the fat-soluble vitamins A, D and E, the full B group, vitamin C, and a spread of trace minerals. What sets the composition apart is the forms chosen, which are the activated ones.
How does a multivitamin work in the body?
Most vitamins are coenzymes. An enzyme is a protein that does a job, and many of them cannot start until a small vitamin-derived molecule is seated in place. Minerals work as cofactors in much the same way, sitting at the active site of an enzyme and making the chemistry possible.
What makes this formula different?
The forms. Folate is 5-MTHF rather than folic acid, B12 is methylcobalamin, B6 is pyridoxal 5-phosphate, and riboflavin is riboflavin 5-phosphate. Minerals are glycine chelates. Vitamin C comes as sodium, potassium, calcium and zinc ascorbates, which is a non-acidic way to carry it.
Who is it for?
Adults who want one broad formula rather than a row of single-nutrient supplements. It contains copper and no iron, which fits men, and women past menopause, who generally do not need extra iron. The capsule is plant-based, so it works for vegetarian eating.
What should I know before taking it?
Talk with your healthcare provider before use if you are pregnant, because part of the vitamin A here is preformed retinyl palmitate and pregnancy has an upper limit for that form. Mention it too if you take a blood thinner or thyroid medication, or if you already take single-nutrient supplements that overlap.
