About this supplement
What Is Active B Complex?
A B complex puts the whole B-vitamin family in one capsule — eight nutrients the body has to get from food, working in overlapping reactions. Most B vitamins need converting before an enzyme can use them; three here arrive already converted: folate as Quatrefolic methylfolate, B6 as pyridoxal-5-phosphate, B12 as methylcobalamin.
How It Works in the Body
B vitamins are not fuel. They are cofactors — helper molecules that enzymes cannot work without. Thiamin, riboflavin, niacin and pantothenic acid each become part of a coenzyme inside the reactions that turn food into usable energy. Biotin does the same job for the carboxylase enzymes. Folate, B12 and B6 run a different errand. They pass methyl groups from molecule to molecule, and that traffic helps maintain homocysteine levels already within the normal range.
What It Supports
- Energy metabolism: Thiamin, riboflavin, niacin and pantothenic acid each play a role in normal energy metabolism.
- Methylation: Folate, B12 and B6 keep methyl groups moving through the reactions that build DNA and neurotransmitters.
- Nerve tissue: B12 is required for the myelin sheath that wraps and insulates nerve fibers.
- Red blood cells: Folate and B12 are both required for normal red blood cell formation.
- Skin and hair: Biotin is a cofactor in the fatty-acid reactions that skin and hair tissue depend on.
Who It May Suit
People eating mostly or entirely plants, since B12 occurs naturally only in animal foods. Anyone who would rather take coenzyme forms than folic acid and cyanocobalamin. The capsule is vegetable-based and the filler is rice powder, so the formula fits vegetarian and vegan routines.
Good To Know
Riboflavin tints urine bright yellow within a few hours; that is the vitamin passing through, and nothing to read into. Talk with your healthcare provider before use, especially if you take methotrexate or the seizure medicine phenytoin — folate interacts with both.

FAQ
Common questions
What is Active B Complex?
It is a single capsule holding eight B vitamins: thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, B6, folate, B12, biotin and pantothenic acid. Several are in coenzyme forms rather than the precursor forms the body has to convert first — pyridoxal-5-phosphate for B6, methylcobalamin for B12, and Quatrefolic, a (6S)-5-methyltetrahydrofolic acid salt, for folate.
How do B vitamins actually work?
They act as cofactors. Each one is built into a coenzyme that a particular family of enzymes cannot run without: thiamin into thiamine pyrophosphate, riboflavin into FAD and FMN, niacin into NAD. The vitamin itself is not burned as fuel. It is the part that lets the enzyme do its job.
What makes this formula different from a basic B complex?
The forms, mainly. Folate is Quatrefolic — (6S)-5-methyltetrahydrofolic acid bound to a glucosamine salt, the folate form that circulates in blood. B12 is methylcobalamin at 500 mcg per serving and B6 is pyridoxal-5-phosphate at 25 mg per serving. Niacin appears as niacinamide, which does not produce a flush.
Who is it for?
Adults who eat little or no animal food, since B12 comes from animal sources. Older adults, whose ability to pull B12 out of food tends to run lower with age. Anyone avoiding gelatin — the shell is a vegetable capsule. And anyone who would rather take one capsule than five.
What should I know before taking it?
Talk with your healthcare provider before use if you are pregnant or taking prescription medicine. Folate at this level can mask a B12 shortfall on a routine blood count, which matters most if you eat no animal food. These vitamins are water-soluble, so what the body cannot use leaves in the urine rather than building up.
