About this supplement
What Is Liposomal Glutathione?
Glutathione is a tripeptide: three amino acids, glutamate, cysteine and glycine, linked in a row. The body makes it, mostly in the liver, and every cell holds a pool of it. Liposomal means the tripeptide is carried inside tiny spheres of fat rather than left loose, here inside a plant-based capsule.
How It Works in the Body
Glutathione works by giving something away. The cysteine at its center carries a sulfur atom with a loose hydrogen, and that hydrogen goes to reactive molecules that would otherwise damage cell parts. Two spent glutathiones then link together, and an enzyme splits them apart, returning both to the reduced form.
Loose glutathione is broken up by enzymes in the small intestine. A liposome, built from the same phospholipid as a cell membrane, shields it on the way through.
What It Supports
- Antioxidant defense: Glutathione is the cell's main internal antioxidant, and it supports the body's own antioxidant network.
- Vitamin C and vitamin E: It helps return both to their working forms after they have taken on a radical.
- Liver conjugation: Liver enzymes attach glutathione to compounds to make them water-soluble for excretion.
- Immune function: Active immune cells run through bursts of oxidation, and glutathione supports normal immune function.
Who It May Suit
The body builds glutathione from amino acids, and cysteine is the one in short supply. Sulfur-rich foods carry it: eggs, garlic, onions and cruciferous vegetables. Diets light on those run lower in the raw material. The capsule is plant-based, so it fits vegetarian and vegan eating.
Good To Know
Liposomal is a delivery format, not a different molecule: what is inside is ordinary glutathione. Talk with your healthcare provider before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you are having chemotherapy, since some of those drugs work through the same oxidative chemistry glutathione buffers.

FAQ
Common questions
What is glutathione?
A tripeptide the body makes for itself, built from glutamate, cysteine and glycine. It is not a vitamin, because you do not have to eat it. Cells hold it in high concentration, most of it in the reduced form that can hand off a hydrogen atom.
How does it work?
Through sulfur. The cysteine in the middle of the molecule carries a reactive sulfur-hydrogen group, and glutathione donates that hydrogen to unstable molecules before they can damage something. Enzymes in the liver also fasten glutathione onto compounds the body wants to send out in bile or urine.
What makes the liposomal form different?
Plain glutathione meets peptidases on the wall of the small intestine that take it apart into its three amino acids. A liposome is a small sphere of phospholipid, the material cell membranes are made of, and the tripeptide rides inside it. The capsule shell itself is vegetable-based.
Who is it for?
Adults looking for antioxidant support, particularly anyone whose meals are light on the sulfur-rich foods that supply cysteine: eggs, garlic, onions, and cabbage-family vegetables. The vegetable capsule makes it workable for vegetarian and vegan eating, which matters here because most dietary cysteine comes from animal protein.
What should I know before taking it?
Glutathione is a sulfur compound, and some people find sulfur compounds do not sit well with them. Talk with your healthcare provider before use if you have asthma, since some people with asthma react to sulfur-containing compounds, and mention any other supplements you take so nothing overlaps.
