About this supplement
What Is Glutathione Detox Complex?
Glutathione is a small molecule the body makes for itself: three amino acids long, and one of the main antioxidants inside every cell. Glutathione Detox Complex supplies it two ways — the finished molecule as S-acetyl glutathione, and the amino acid that sets the pace of its assembly, as N-acetyl-L-cysteine, with vitamin B-6 alongside.
How It Works in the Body
Both sulfur ingredients are acetylated, but in different places. In NAC the acetyl sits on the nitrogen, which steadies the amino acid on its way through the gut. Inside a cell it comes off, leaving cysteine. Cysteine sets the pace of glutathione assembly.
In S-acetyl glutathione the acetyl caps the sulfur of the finished tripeptide instead, and a thioesterase inside the cell takes it off. Pyridoxal-5-phosphate is the coenzyme of the transsulfuration enzymes that build cysteine from methionine.
What It Supports
- Glutathione assembly: Cysteine sets the pace of the build, and NAC delivers it at 1 g per serving.
- Phase II conjugation: Glutathione S-transferases fasten glutathione onto fat-soluble compounds, so the liver can make them water-soluble enough to leave.
- Antioxidant defenses: The thiol on glutathione's cysteine hands electrons to glutathione peroxidase, and glutathione supports the body's antioxidant defenses.
- B-6 as a coenzyme: Pyridoxal-5-phosphate acts as a cofactor in the sulfur chemistry that produces cysteine.
Who It May Suit
People who would rather have the precursor and the finished tripeptide together than choose between them. Diets light on eggs, garlic, onions and cabbage vegetables tend to run lower in sulfur amino acids. The capsule is cellulose, so vegetarian and vegan eating are covered.
Good To Know
S-acetyl and N-acetyl are not the same modification: one caps a sulfur, the other a nitrogen. NAC carries a faint sulfur smell, which is normal. Talk with your healthcare provider before use if you take nitroglycerin or another nitrate, or a blood thinner, or if you are pregnant or nursing.

FAQ
Common questions
What is in it?
Three things. N-acetyl-L-cysteine, which is the amino acid cysteine with an acetyl group on its nitrogen. S-acetyl glutathione, which is the full tripeptide of glutamate, cysteine and glycine with an acetyl group on its sulfur. And vitamin B-6 in its coenzyme form, pyridoxal-5-phosphate.
How does it work?
Cells build glutathione from three amino acids, and cysteine is the one in short supply, so NAC is there to deliver it. The S-acetyl form takes the other route: it arrives as the finished molecule, and an enzyme inside the cell strips the acetyl group off the sulfur.
What makes this formula different from plain glutathione?
It is neither the plain tripeptide nor a liposomal preparation. The glutathione here is acetylated on its sulfur, which caps the reactive thiol until the molecule is inside a cell. Alongside it sits a gram of NAC per serving, so a precursor and a finished molecule arrive together.
Who is it for?
People who want both routes into glutathione rather than picking one, and anyone whose meals are light on eggs, alliums and cabbage-family vegetables, which carry the sulfur amino acids. The capsule is cellulose and the stearate comes from a vegetable source, so it fits vegan eating.
What should I know before taking it?
NAC has a faint sulfur smell, which is normal. Talk with your healthcare provider before use if you take nitroglycerin or another nitrate, or a blood thinner, since NAC can add to what those medicines do. Ask as well if you are pregnant or nursing.
