What Is Vascanox HP®?
Vascanox HP® is built around nitric oxide, approached from two directions: nitrate, from potassium nitrate and a beet extract, and a 700 mg berry and black garlic blend per serving. Vitamin C, thiamin, B12, magnesium and zinc fill out the formula.
How It Works in the Body
Nitric oxide is a gas the body uses as a signal. In a blood vessel wall it tells the smooth muscle to relax, which is how a vessel sets its diameter. One route to it starts with the amino acid arginine. The second starts with food: nitrate from beets and greens is concentrated in saliva, where bacteria on the tongue turn it into nitrite, and the body forms nitric oxide from nitrite even where oxygen is scarce.
The berry extracts bring anthocyanins, the red-purple polyphenols coloring bilberry and black currant. Black garlic is garlic aged until the cloves darken and its sulfur compounds mellow.
