What Is NeuroSync?

NeuroSync is a free-form amino acid formula from Designs for Health: tyrosine, GABA, glutamine and taurine at gram or near-gram amounts, with 5-HTP, inositol and vitamin B6 in its coenzyme form. Those amounts are why a serving runs to six capsules.

How It Works in the Body

Some are messengers; the rest are what messengers are made from. GABA is the nervous system's main inhibitory signal, and taurine is an amino acid the brain keeps in quantity.

Tyrosine is the starting material for dopamine and norepinephrine, and 5-HTP is the step between tryptophan and serotonin. Vitamin B6, supplied as pyridoxal 5-phosphate, is the coenzyme both of those conversions need. Glutamine crosses into the brain and feeds the glutamate and GABA pool, while inositol carries signals inward from the cell surface.

Good To Know

This formula carries 1,200 mg of L-tyrosine, 750 mg of GABA and 150 mg of 5-HTP per serving, which is why the capsule count runs high. Talk with your healthcare provider before use, especially if you take an antidepressant, a migraine medication, an MAOI or levodopa, since 5-HTP feeds the serotonin pathway several of those act on and both tyrosine and B6 change how levodopa is handled.
