About this supplement
What Is Methyl Support with TMG?
Betaine anhydrous, better known as trimethylglycine or TMG, was first isolated from sugar beets. It is glycine wearing three methyl groups. Around it sit four B vitamins, each already in the coenzyme shape enzymes grab hold of: riboflavin 5'-phosphate, pyridoxal 5'-phosphate, two folates and methylcobalamin.
How It Works in the Body
Methylation is one small chemical move repeated everywhere: a single carbon atom, carried as a methyl group, passed from one molecule to the next. TMG hands one of its three groups over directly. Methylfolate and methylcobalamin work the other way in, through the folate cycle that regenerates methionine. Riboflavin becomes FAD and pyridoxal 5'-phosphate is the coenzyme form of B6; both are cofactors the folate and sulfur pathways lean on.
What It Supports
- Methyl donors: TMG, methylfolate and methylcobalamin each carry methyl groups into the cycle.
- Homocysteine: Together they support homocysteine levels already within the normal range.
- B-vitamin cofactors: Riboflavin and B6 act as cofactors in folate and amino acid chemistry.
- Nervous system: Methylation supplies the groups used to build neurotransmitters and myelin.
Who It May Suit
People who prefer B vitamins supplied in coenzyme forms. Adults on plant-based diets, since B12 is absent from plant foods. Anyone building a routine around the methylation cycle as a whole rather than around one vitamin at a time.
Good To Know
The folate here is split between calcium folinate and a methylfolate glucosamine salt, so it enters the cycle at two points. Talk with your healthcare provider before use, especially if you are pregnant or take methotrexate, which works by blocking folate.

FAQ
Common questions
What is TMG?
Trimethylglycine, or betaine anhydrous, is the amino acid glycine with three methyl groups attached to its nitrogen. Sugar beets are full of it, and so are wheat germ and spinach. In the body it belongs to a small group of molecules that exist mainly to hand methyl groups to other molecules.
How does the formula work?
Two routes feed one cycle. TMG donates a methyl group straight to the methionine pathway. Methylfolate, folinate and methylcobalamin work through the folate cycle, which arrives at the same place. Riboflavin and B6 sit alongside as cofactors for the enzymes that run both routes.
Why are the vitamins in these particular forms?
Each is the shape the enzyme already recognizes: riboflavin as the 5'-phosphate, B6 as pyridoxal 5'-phosphate, B12 as methylcobalamin. The folate comes as calcium folinate plus a (6S)-methylfolate glucosamine salt, 3,400 mcg DFE per serving, with 500 mg of betaine anhydrous per serving.
Who is it for?
Adults who prefer methylated and coenzyme B vitamins over plain pyridoxine, folic acid and cyanocobalamin. People on vegan or vegetarian diets, who have no dietary B12. Anyone whose practitioner has built a plan around methylation rather than around single nutrients.
What should I know before taking it?
Talk with your healthcare provider before use, especially if you are pregnant, take methotrexate or another folate antagonist, or take levodopa, since B6 changes how the body handles it. Mention any other B-complex you take, because these nutrients are common across multivitamins.
