About this supplement
What Is Flush Free Niacin?
This is not plain niacin. It is inositol hexanicotinate: six nicotinic acid molecules esterified onto one molecule of inositol, a six-carbon sugar alcohol found in every cell membrane. One compound, two nutrients, held together until the body takes them apart.
How It Works in the Body
Enzymes in the blood cut the ester bonds slowly, so free nicotinic acid and inositol appear gradually rather than all at once. The niacin becomes NAD and NADP, the two coenzymes that shuttle electrons through hundreds of oxidation-reduction reactions, including the ones that release energy from food. The inositol takes a separate path and is built into membrane phospholipids, which cells use to pass signals inward.
What It Supports
- Energy metabolism: NAD and NADP, both made from niacin, play a role in releasing energy from food.
- Skin and nerves: Niacin supports normal skin and nervous system function.
- Cell signaling: Inositol is part of the phospholipids that relay messages across membranes.
- Gradual release: The ester is taken apart step by step, so nicotinic acid enters the blood slowly.
Who It May Suit
People who prefer a niacin form that does not arrive as free nicotinic acid all at once. Adults assembling a routine from single B vitamins rather than a complex. Vegetarians and vegans, since the ester is made synthetically and the capsule is plant-based.
Good To Know
Because the niacin is esterified, the body has to cleave it before the vitamin is free, and some of the compound passes through intact. Talk with your healthcare provider before use, especially if you take medication for blood sugar or blood lipids, or have liver disease, since large niacin intakes can affect liver enzymes.

FAQ
Common questions
What is inositol hexanicotinate?
A single molecule that carries two nutrients. Six nicotinic acid units are esterified onto the six hydroxyl groups of inositol, giving a compound about four parts niacin to one part inositol by weight. It is made synthetically and is the ingredient usually labeled flush-free niacin.
How does the body get the niacin out of it?
Esterases in the bloodstream hydrolyse the bonds one at a time, freeing nicotinic acid and inositol over an extended stretch rather than in a single wave. The released nicotinic acid then follows the ordinary route to NAD, the coenzyme at the center of cellular energy chemistry.
How is this different from regular niacin or niacinamide?
Plain nicotinic acid arrives free and acts on small blood vessels in the skin, which produces the familiar warm flush. Niacinamide is the amide form and behaves differently again. Here the nicotinic acid is esterified and released gradually: 500 mg of niacin per serving with 135 mg of inositol per serving.
Who is it for?
Adults who want vitamin B3 in a form that releases nicotinic acid slowly. People building their own B-vitamin routine rather than taking a complex. Vegetarians and vegans, since both the ester and the cellulose capsule are free of animal material.
What should I know before taking it?
Talk with your healthcare provider before use, especially if you take medication for blood lipids or blood sugar, have liver disease or a history of gout, or are pregnant. Large niacin intakes can affect liver enzymes and uric acid, so your provider may want to monitor them.
